Shopify Pricing: Monthly Subscription

The first fee associated with Shopify is the monthly subscription plan. This is a fixed monthly fee, which will only change if you upgrade or downgrade plans. The pricing shown below is based on annual purchase and payment, with pricing being roughly 25% more if paid on a month-to-month basis.

Shopify Pricing: Transaction Fees

The second fee associated with Shopify are transaction fees. Shopify charges transaction fees when a 3rd party payment provider is used, instead of their own Shopify Payments solution. In some regions, such as South Africa, Shopify Payments is not yet supported, meaning store owners must use a 3rd party payment provider such as PayU and PayFast, among others. In these instances, transaction fees will be applied.

How Shopify transaction fees are calculated

  • the transactions made through your Shopify store
  • the Shopify subscription plan you’re using

Shopify transaction fees are calculated as a percentage of your total transactions for the month.
